About the Authors

We both teach in a 1:1 environment and we both coach colleagues about technology integration.

Jen has been teaching with 1:1 since 2008 in a large, urban, public high school in San Diego. As one of the first teachers in her district to have a laptop for every student as part of a pilot program five years ago, she had to figure out for herself what this would look like in her classroom. Jen has gone on to lead professional development workshops for her district and beyond. She is also a Google Certified Teacher, a presenter at national conferences, and was recently awarded the Innovative Educator Award from the San Diego Computer Using Educators and the Classrooms of the Future Foundation.  She also blogs at LitandTech.com

Diana works at an independent high school in the Silicon Valley with 1:1 iPads, where she is an Instructional Technology Lead Teacher and Peer Coach, and helped establish the English Department’s 1:1 iPad Curriculum. As an actively involved teacher in the iPad pilot program, her curriculum work was featured in the school’s recognition as an Apple Distinguished iPad Program School.  She regularly hosts local, national, and international visitors interested in seeing how 1:1 iPad implementation works. Diana presents her work nationally at conferences, and runs professional development workshops for her school network, preschool through 12th grade.  She was recently selected to participate in the MERIT (Making Education Relevant and Interactive through Technology) summer program at The Krause Center for Innovation.
